Community Engagement Training

The Community Engagement programme consists of a series of training/team building workshops in partnership with participant organisations and groups. The workshops will improve individual and team communication and develop skills that will provide the group with the belief and confidence to most effectively deliver their regeneration work. Attendees will also develop the confidence to use these new skills in their relationship with other groups and residents outside of the training room. A sustainable mentor relationship between resident trustees and partner organisations will be put in place as the programme develops.

Workshop Content

  • Self confidence, recognition and belief of the group as individuals
  • Recognition of skills and qualities in others – increase knowledge of types of people, their preferences, their strengths and their weaknesses
  • Understanding and practise of group/team dynamics
  • Understanding of different learning styles and how to deliver to these groups/individuals
  • Negotiation and influencing skills, how to win in a partnership situation, thinking from the others perspective to create a win-win situation
  • Use of coaching (mirroring, listening, paraphrasing)
  • Team building activities that explore diversity and break down any barriers within the team
  • Confidence building and assertiveness/influencing training
  • Opportunity to practise a range of relevant skills that drive the team forward
