Aimed at development practitioners, front-line workers and community activists from a wide range of regeneration interests, who support others either one-to-one or in groups, EP2’s coaching programme works to develop the attitude, skills and understanding of those working in disadvantaged areas in unlocking the potential of their communities.
A top down approach to communities is limited in it’s impact. EP2 encourages participants on its programme to work alongside people, believe in their potential and help them to release that potential for the benefit of the community and themselves.
“We have a substantial number of people living in areas of multiple deprivation who don’t seem willing to take responsibility for themselves – how can you overcome this?” – Comment from Senior Regeneration Officer
Those attending the coaching programme will learn how to become more responsive and solution orientated in their work and focus on how to remove obstacles, overcome barriers and support people in a more tangible way. It is a common experience for participants to feel more confident in their everyday work and better equipped to deal with difficult situations.
At present EP2 offers a one day introduction to coaching and a three day coaching for regeneration course. These courses will provide a clear understanding of coaching and coaching techniques and how they can be applied within a regeneration setting.
Most of the EP2 coaching programme is tailored to suit the needs of individuals groups and organisations. If you are interested in finding out more about how EP2 can support the work of your own organisation please contact Programme Manager, Steve Collins
